Practical work experience is an essential part of the training of public health professionals. The NYU PRC offers carefully planned, highly supervised, and critically evaluated student training programs. All students work in close collaboration with community and academic advisors on activities critical to the function and mission of the NYU PRC.

NYU PRC ASPH/CDC/PRC Minority Health Fellow Shilpa Patel Presents During PRC Annual MeetingShilpa Patel

Since 2002, the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH) has administered a Minority Health Fellowship Program to provide opportunities for underrepresented minority students to conduct doctoral-level research under the guidance and mentorship of prevention research experts at CDC-funded PRCs. Shilpa Patel, an ASPH/CDC/PRC Minority Health Fellow based at the NYU PRC, presented a poster titled, "Project RICE: Preliminary Findings from a descriptive study within the New York City South Asian and Korean Communities" at the Prevention Research Centers (PRC) 2011 Annual Conference in Atlanta, GA.
